About

Jade graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2005, with a BSc(Hons) in Psychology. Joining the HCNU In February 2006 as a research assistant, Jade worked primarily on a BBSRC funded grant investigating glucose facilitation of cognitive performance, but was also involved in several other investigations including the cognitive and mood effects of dietary supplementation of multivitamins and Omega 3 in children. Subsequently Jade was awarded a PhD studentship, of which she is now in her second year.

Research

Following on from her initial interest in glucose and memory from the BBSRC grant, Jade's PhD is investigating the effect of glucose and glucoregulation on memory function. In particular it aims to examine whether a glucose drink differentially improves different phases of memory formation/retrieval with particular reference to memory efficiency.
